February, 2016 : Updated Health Disparities LibGuide

The elimination of health disparities is central to the mission of Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science.

The staff of the CDU Health Sciences Library has updated the Health Disparities collection within LibGuides to answer the following questions:

•        What are health disparities?
•        Who do they affect?
•        What can we do to reverse them?

You will find links to:

•        Electonic books
•        Electronic journals with an emphasis on health disparities
•        Chapters and/or sections in Electronic books
•        Websites from government and private agencies with health disparities initiatives
•        Links to relevant documents

This LibGuide is evolving.  Library staff will be adding new materials, and we invite input from the CDU community for resources to be added.

March, 2016,  Learning Express Library LibGuide

The Learning Express Library is not new to CDU, but finding the section you need isn't always easy.  the New Library Learning Express Libguide will help you find what you need and link you directly to it.

The Learning Express Library provides instructional and review resources in basic academic subjects. 

Subject areas include:

          Sciences (Chemistry and Biology)      

           Math  (from basic math to calculus)

           Reading skills

           Writing skills (also grammar, vocabulary and spelling)

The LEL also includes rreview/practice for certain standardized tests:

          Admissions testing

                     MCAT,

                     GRE

           Professional Certification exams

                    NCLEX-RN,

                    ARRT

                    PANCE

Depending on the subject matter, the resources in Learning Express Library may include tutorials, graded practice sets, practice exams, or ebooks.  The resources in Learning Express Library are spread across several "Centers."  This LibGuide will help you find what you need and link you directly to the resource.

Every user of the content in Learning Express Library must create an account and then log in to the various resources.  The same username (email address) and password works for all resources.  When you find a resource you want to use, click on "Login" if you have already created an account, or "Register" to create an account. When registering, you have to fill out everything except your student ID number and your course section number.
