Study at the Library

The CDU Library, LRC, and SESC have a number of different options for study space.

Study Room Policies

Study Room Policies:

  • The CDU Library has 2 group study rooms available for student use.
  • A student may reserve a study room for up to two hours each day.
  • All rooms have white boards. Markers and erasers are available for checkout at the Ciruclation Desk.
  • Group study rooms can be used only by currently enrolled CDU students.
  • Reservations are required and can be made at the Circulation Desk.
  • Reservations can only be made 2 weeks in advance at the earliest.
  • Students may only make reservations in their own name; reservations cannot be made for other students.
  • Both group study rooms are equipped with desktop computers.
  • Reservations supercede walk-in users
  • Single users may use group study rooms with the understanding that they could be asked to leave if a group would like to use the space.

Cobb Building, Room 189

Cobb Room 189 is located in-between the CDU Library and the LRC in the Cobb Building. It is designated as a quiet study space, and is outfitted with dividers, electrical outlets, and networking ports.

LRC Study Space

  • Educational Technology Classroom (Cobb 183): A computer classroom with 15 computer workstations, a SmartBoard-LCD projection system, instructor podium, and screen/video capture software.

  • Computer Laboratory (Cobb 185): A general computer lab with 16 workstations, laptop connections, a laser printer, flatbed and film scanners, a film printer, and SmartBoard LCD projection system. The LRC also has a videoconferencing unit and a portable PA system.

SESC Study Space

 

Students have access to the following equipment and resources:

  • A main computer area with 24 workstations and 9 computer stations in the Career Center
  • Three group-study rooms with computer access
  • Computer software programs that accommodate varying study needs
